Good (unofficial, Finnish) karelian language day!
27th November is celebrated (for the time being, unofficial) Karelian language day. On 27 November 2009 President Tarja Halonen, then President of the Republic of Finland signed a decree, in which Karelian language was first mentioned as a non-regional minority language. The Karelian people nowadays spend unofficial karelian language day on that day. The date reminds us of an important step towards improving the status of the karelian language.
